Hi, I'm Jenna!
Hello and welcome to my website where I track the progress I've made on my personal quarantine project: Chalk Around the Block! I think of each weeks new theme and am the primary drawer. Here's a little more about me:
- I'm a senior at Cupertino High School.
- I play competitive field hockey at school and with my club team.
- I have two cats named Ellie and Bailey.
- In my free time I like to cook, read, write, bike with my sister, and watch TV.
I decided to start this project about a month into quarantine when I realized the state of the world wasn't going to improve any time soon. I'd seen and heard of a lot of small organizations or individuals who were helping essential workers by sewing masks, and while I am doing this from home too, I wanted a way to bring positivity to my community specifically. I thought chalk would be the best way for me to send a message to the neighborhood while remaining safe and socially responsible. Over the four months or so that I've done this, I've been wanting a website so I could post the pictures of each day's drawings both for my neigbors to access and for myself to keep a record. I've seen such positivity and unity within my community because of my project which warms my heart and inspires me to continue making an impact in the world around me.
